about

"Rise" is Resistor's second album. It was written in two phases, and has an A side and B side LP concept.

Side A is a selection of songs written over the first phase of the album. They span a range of musical styles, while remaining Resistor songs to the core.

The piece "Changing Sides" may already be familiar to some.

Side B is a 45 minute epic called the "Land Of No Groove" where four intrepid musicians with inescapable similarities to the band members of Resistor embark on an epic journey in search of groove. Yes, this is progressive rock (mostly) folks, though there is a sea shanty thrown in for reasons that will become clear if you listen to this through. It is all part of the story, which is what LONG is - a gripping story told and played in 10 parts. Follow along on this strange adventure on the Land Of No Groove Map. And you are also welcome to ignore the story and just enjoy this 45 minute progressive rock epic song!

The Islanders from "Convincing The Islanders" appear again in Resistor's 2011 release "Resistor Presents The Secret Island Band Jams".
