Arrival 07:27
Arrival Over the horizon line arrive the vintage limousines Tinted window renders everything in sepia I scan the landscape for life signs Opening the door I hear the rumble of machines Is it early morning or a drug-induced illusion? Smelling diesel through the dust and hearing heavy chains Slow down, slow down, thoughts stop racing Tires spitting gravel see the entourage escape Running from the desert sun toward the only action Excavator quiet now, I pound the metal door My ribcage pounding out dire warning Ominous gate crash into stone The echoes die, and suddenly silence I face the darkness alone… alone! Sheer panic starts a chain reaction The blood-rush feeding fear and dread External sensory deprivation I think I’m losing my head Awaking from apparent chemical coma Knocked off balance and now locked underground Forge on, no going backward The only opening is farther down Yet standing in this same position A trembling sigh to slow my heart I need to reach some intuition But where do I even start? Waking from apparent chemical coma Knocked off balance and now locked underground Forge on, no going backward The only opening is farther down

Cathedral 03:52
Cathedral Carved out of stone, a cathedral beckons me on Lamplight to illuminate believers’ paths All abandoned “Light up the world through a votive candle” Symbol of Eternal Life in a catacomb divine Layer upon layer upon layer of debris combine Altar for the prayer but of the worshiper there is no Sign Turning away, the cathedral – cold and alone – remains Offering a statue’s grace Still, abandoned

Wire 03:26
Wire Wire invisible but if you Try it electric beam to cut in two The window's only there to show you what you've lost You might as well just walk away Unless you fancy sending slices of you through Rolling down the hill from whence you came Liar! You say you can't remember Why you Joined our quaint subterranea The window’s only for emergency supplies Like chemicals to keep us sane So even if somehow you someday make it past Trust me, son, you’ll just come back again (inst) Careful That way you’re staring through Quiet! The keepers might catch on to you The window's only there to show you what you've lost It's only built for sad goodbyes A bright new day is dawning right before your eyes Too bad you're forever stuck inside

about

Resistor's "Live from the Underground" was recorded in October 2017 at the ProgStock progressive rock music festival in Rahway New Jersey, USA, at the inspiring Union County Performing Arts Center. Sharing that weekend with the ProgStock family, other artists, vendors, and of course everyone attending, made for a wonderful and memorable time. This recording was mixed and mastered from the tracks recorded by Robert Frazza and provided to us by our friends on the ProgStock team. Many thanks! Now that we've got it all properly mixed and mastered, it's our pleasure to share this show with you!
